Aaliyah Dana Haaughton soared to notoriety after she released her first album Age Ain't Nothing But a Number in 1994. When she was just 15 years old, the album earned Gold standing. The collaboration was strongly in the style of R. Kelly, and put the singer on the map. In the year 1996, Jermaine Durpri along with Timbaland joined forces to record her sophomore album One In A Million. The album included If Your Boyfriend Only knew as the lead single one. Aaliyah became a household name as a R&B artist with their release of the sophomore album One In A Million. She was a part of the legendary martial artist Jet Li in the 2000 romantic-action movie Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, the film producer, saw her at the awards ceremony and kindly offered her the part. In 2002 she had the opportunity to play the horror film Queen of the Damned which was based on the Anne Rice novel. She then got into the Matrix with her role as Zee as Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also performed as a character in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. Aarti has both Aarti Majumdar and Aarti Munn for her professional names. Although she began her acting career in film and TV with a few minor performances, her acting career picked up growth in the latter half of 2000s. In addition to The Big Bang Theory, the other shows she has starred in are Leverage (2013) Suits (2014) and Grey's Anatomy (2017.) The actress has been featured in commercials for big brands like international car manufacturer Volvo. Her home is with her family in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter and continues to pursue her acting career.
