Her grandfather John Martin Magenau Jr. was the President and CEO of the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery in Erie Pennsylvania which had been established in 1847. It was shut down in 1978. Jacobs studied acting from the age of eight and was a student at the Saturday class of Pittsburgh Playhouse. Mt. Jacobs left Lebanon High School for New York City, in 2000. She became part of the Drama Division of Group 33. In 2004, she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree.
